This is the second and final installment to Cass and Calders’ HEA. A lot of similarities to this two book story of Cass and Calder and Sebastian/Talia's stories, (from books 1-3). Like, same commitment issues with the guy...same trust issues with the girl...same secrets being withheld...same threats to ones life...same sexual assault(s) playing out. Cass Rockwell isn't as strong of a character as her best friend Talia was..(book #1). She comes across as strong or tough, but it's a guise she hides behind. She’s actually very vulnerable due to a sexual assault on her person, and she struggles to stand up and overcome those issues. I liked Cass...she's genuine and believable. I also liked Calder Blake and found it sweet how patient he was with Cass even though she doesn’t disclose her secrets....he recognizes her emotional issues. I appreciated how he approaches her, slowly gaining her trust. He’s strong and tough, yet tender. He’s protective and territorial with Cass, and I loved that. The dialogue is fresh, the suspense and drama were real and keeps the pages turning. BUT, the excuses each character gives for withholding, or omitting to disclose pertinent information were flimsy and weak sometimes. The characters are strong, but simple details could've been stronger. Like, how old are they? I got a better feel for Calder's character because physical and personality details of him were frequently reiterated. Cass...not so much. Other than black hair, I never knew what she looked like. I went back to book one to remind me of a few of her facial deets. Anyway, a great conclusion to Cass and Calders story. The main plot was intriguing, with Cass willingly assuming the role of her look-alike nemesis to gain a political favor for her father...and while assuming her identity, all hell breaks loose. Murder, attempted murder, fraud, blackmail and political corruption. While all this is happening, a sub-plot of corruption in the MMA underworld is slowly building and when the first plot is brought to a close (too quickly), Ms. Author brings the second plot forward and ties the two plots together nicely. Lots of plot twists, so pay attention.Product details

In PT Michelle’s newest book, from the In The Shadows series, she weaves a powerful love, lust, and suspense-filled story that will leave you guessing and guessing and guessing again. Maybe I’m a little jaded, but movies and books that follow a recognizable formulaic approach to their plot are disappointing when I can figure out the ending before it’s revealed. While reading this book, I had several scenarios running through my head, but I did not figure out the end before I discovered it on the pages!
And just as surprising as the ending was, the build-up to get there was finely crafted and flowed with increasing intensity and even more surprises….especially the super-hot relationship with Cass and Calder. Take note, romance writers, while lust can appear quickly between characters, I believe the best written relationships are multi-layered and slowly uncovered within the plot. PT Michelle is a master at developing and revealing characters in a well-timed fashion that weave together with the plot and supporting characters.
I also cannot fail to mention the very creative and erotic moments between Cass and Calder... Let’s just say, I’m rethinking the appeal of the whole biting thing after this book!
The title of “Master Puzzler” should go to PT Michelle, because this book and entire series is a 1,000 piece puzzle where none of the pieces missing.
I loved this book. I was completely surprised by who the observer was. I thought it was someone else but I was happy that it was that person. Cass is loyal and sticks with something through to the end. She has to go through so much to bring down the evil, twisted Hemmings and those who hurt her and others.
I love how Cal and her are together. They are so passionate and raw. Cass is stubborn and it drives Cal crazy. Cal will do whatever it takes to protect Cass even when he's jealous or mad at her.
Cal and Cass are perfect for each other. They are both strong, have painful past they've had to survive and they don't give up.
I must say I didn't know what to make of Ben or how he was going to turn out. Being that so many people are twisted I was suspicious of him till the end.
I loved how this book ended. I love all the rollercoaster ride to get to the end.
I highly recommend this series. Can't wait for the next book.
I was captivated by In the Shadows Series from the beginning but OMG!, Cass and Calder's story pack a perfect combination of romance, mystery and secret. I dislike😤😡 very much Philip from the beginning. Spoiler Alert The end was amazing and I hope, that you can write a book about Celeste. Would like to see her and Cass met down the road in secret and make peace with each other. Also, will hope Beth can keep a good relationship with Cass from now on. Ben needs a book and you need to explore the relationship between the new found brother, please. Can't hardly wait for the rest of the books in this series. Need more of "Raven mine"
This books had so many twists and turns. Cass has been through so much since high school. Her and Celeste look alike and Cass pays for it. Jake wants Celeste but she doesn't want him. Cass doesn't know any of this until Celeste asks her to pretend to be her for a day. Cass learns a lot about the Carver and Hemming family. All her bad memories she has hidden has come back. Cass is not the only one freaking with past demons. Calder has dealt with alot. His mother's suicide that was covered up to protect the fami!y name. After his father's death he gets a letter from his mother's attorney about the truth. Calder is deeply pained from what he finds out he pushes his family away. Cass and Calder are both damaged souls but together they become so much more. He becomes her bodyguard. He will not let anything happen to her. So much happens and a lot of truths are revealed. You won't stop reading. I thought Talia and Sebastian had a complicated pass. Calder and Cass fight for their relationship A must read
